A Wichí community has appealed for help as its lands are fenced off. Juan Vega, leader of the village of Pozo Nuevo (New Well) said that soya farmers who have bought up the village's ancestral land in northern Argentina are now fencing it in and preventing the Wichí from hunting there.
'They are taking our life from us, ' he said. 'We are left with nothing – our food is being wiped out by the companies who now exploit the forest.'
