Actor Gael Garcia Bernal models the new T-shirt designed by international designer John Rocha to mark the 40th anniversary of human rights organisation Survival International. The T-shirt is available exclusively from Survival’s Christmas catalogue.

The design is inspired by John’s collection of tribal masks. The T-shirts are available in grey and olive, male and female sizes, priced £18.99, exclusively from www.survivalinternational.org.

John is a Hong Kong-born designer based in Ireland. He is a previous winner of the British Designer of the Year, and was awarded a CBE in The Queen’s New Years Honours in recognition of his contribution to the fashion industry.

John said, ‘I’m involved with Survival because it is the only organisation defending the rights of tribal peoples. I want to make more people aware of the problems facing tribes all over the world.’

Gael is an internationally acclaimed actor who has starred in many award-winning films including Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, Amores Perros, and Y Tu Mama Tambien.

Gael said, ‘I am delighted to be involved with Survival International and their fight to protect the rights of Indigenous peoples all over the world.’

Survival is a human rights organisation that helps tribal peoples defend their lives, protect their lands and determine their own futures. It was founded 40 years ago, following an article by Norman Lewis in the Sunday Times Magazine about the genocide of Brazilian Indians.
