"Our forest has been taken over by miners. That's why I'm here."
The artist and activist Ehuana Yaira Yanomami spoke out about the Yanomami genocide at a seminar organized by New York University Law School.
In this video, she explains why it’s so important to condemn on an international level the atrocities committed against her people and the destruction of the Yanomami’s forest. In light of the attacks last week, in which a young Yanomami girl was killed, Ehuana’s words are more urgent than ever.

Tribal Voice is a project by Survival International, the global movement for tribal peoples. More than one hundred and fifty million people in over sixty countries live in tribal societies.
From the Amazon to the Kalahari, from the jungles of India to the Congo rainforest, Tribal Voice gives them a platform. They experience appalling racism and genocidal violence. Their lands and resources are stolen for profit. Their ways of life are being deliberately and systematically destroyed.
Here they speak out about what matters to them; watch, listen, and get involved: https://svlint.org/TribalVoice
