With much regret, I have to announce the recent death of Patrick Menget, who was president of the Survival International office in Paris for many years. Patrick was a noted anthropologist who worked with the Ikpeng (sometimes referred to as Txicão) people in Brazil for several decades as well as with Indigenous peoples in Mexico, Suriname and Colombia. He was a great ally of Indigenous peoples. I first met Patrick in Nancy, France, in 1973 when we both attended a film festival which had an important Indigenous component.

The note in French below is from the book written by anthropologists in his honor.
